Qualifications

  • Produce and coordinate detailed drawings, technical documentation, and specifications.

Senior Architectural Technologist

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £40-50,000

A respected design studio is looking for a skilled Senior Architectural Technologist to join its Cambridge team. This is a permanent, predominantly office-based position offering the chance to play a key role in the delivery of high-calibre projects across a range of sectors. The Senior Architectural Technologist will take ownership of technical design coordination and oversee project execution to the highest quality. The successful candidate will bring together strong technical expertise with design sensitivity, collaborating with clients, consultants, and colleagues to produce robust, well-considered solutions. The position calls for strong organisational ability, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to lead while supporting wider project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical delivery of projects from early concept stages through to completion

  • Produce and coordinate detailed drawings, technical documentation, and specifications

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and legislation

  • Work closely with clients, external consultants, and contractors to ensure successful outcomes

  • Guide, support, and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and positive studio culture

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or an HNC/HND in Architectural Technology

  • Chartered CIAT status (or progress towards) desirable

  • Demonstrable technical expertise with proven project delivery experience

  • Proficiency in BIM workflows and industry-standard design software

  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Broad sector experience (e.g., education, residential, industrial) advantageous

  • Ability to manage workload effectively across multiple live projects
