Job Title: Senior Data Analytics Engineer

Salary: £90,000 – £95,000 (+ Equity & Benefits)

Location: London (4 days on-site)

Overview

We are partnering with a venture-backed, high-growth technology company that is entering a critical scale-up phase and doubling the size of its data team. Data is already core to how the business operates, powering day-to-day decision-making, product development, and long-term strategy and is now being significantly expanded to support the next stage of growth. The platform is live, complex, and scaling fast, with data sitting at the heart of the operation.

The ideal candidate will be exceptionally strong, commercially aware, and motivated by building high-quality data systems in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. This is a role for someone who wants to be part of a genuinely ambitious company and do some of the best work of their career.

Key Responsibilities
Analytics Engineering & Data Modelling
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable analytics-ready data models that support business-critical reporting and decision-making.
  • Define and own core metrics, ensuring consistency and reliability across teams.
  • Transform raw data into clean, well-structured datasets optimised for analytics and BI use cases.
Data Pipelines & Quality
  • Develop and maintain robust ELT pipelines within a modern cloud data stack.
  • Implement best practices around data quality, testing, documentation, and version control.
  • Monitor and improve data reliability, performance, and cost efficiency as data volumes scale.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with product, operations, commercial, and engineering teams to understand data needs and translate them into durable technical solutions.
  • Support analysts and decision-makers by enabling self-serve, high-confidence analytics.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve data models, tooling, and workflows.
  • Contribute to setting standards and best practices across the data function.
  • Help evolve the analytics platform in line with the company’s rapid growth.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • Advanced SQL skills with strong data modelling expertise (facts, dimensions, semantic layers).
  • Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Hands‑on experience with analytics engineering tools (e.g. dbt).
  • Strong understanding of ELT pipelines and data transformation best practices.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving environments.
  • Clear communicator, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Experience working in high-growth or scale-up environments.
  • Exposure to BI tools.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster).
  • Interest in data quality, governance, and metrics standardisation.
  • Experience working in logistics, supply chain, marketplace, transportation, or operationally complex environments is highly desirable.
The Right Person Will Be
  • Genuinely passionate about data and analytics engineering
  • Naturally curious, sharp, and quick to understand complex systems
  • Commercially minded, with a focus on impact
  • Comfortable taking ownership and operating with minimal hand‑hailing
Package & Benefits
  • Competitive salary of £90,000 – £95,000 ( + equity)
  • Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits
  • London-based office with a strong in-person culture (4 days per week)

This is a rare opportunity to join a company at a pivotal stage of growth, where data is mission‑critical and the bar for talent is genuinely high.
