A local government council in the UK is seeking a Senior Accountant (Treasury and Capital) to oversee Treasury Management operations. You will coordinate capital processes, manage staff, and ensure compliance with financial legislation. The ideal candidate holds a Level 4 financial qualification and has experience in local government finance. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme.
We are recruiting a Senior Accountant (Treasury and Capital) at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: Permanent, Full Time
Contract Type: 37 hours (7.24 Monday - Friday)
Location: Ty Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
Team: Corporate Accountancy

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations within the Treasury Management function operate in accordance with the Treasury Management Strategy. This includes making decisions on a daily basis to invest funds with external bodies based upon the available cash flows.
The postholder will coordinate the year end capital process, capital budget preparation/monitoring and the provision of the Treasury Management functions (including borrowing and investment). You will assist with all appropriate Welsh Government, CIPFA and similar returns and questionnaires ensuring these returns are completed correctly and within agreed timescales.
