Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a standout Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract. In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of preparing and analysing consolidated financial statements, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards, and delivering accurate, timely insights to both internal leaders and external stakeholders. You'll be a key driver of clarity and transparency across our reporting processes, support the adoption of new accounting standards, and act as a trusted mentor to junior team members. This role can be UK remote for the right candidate or preferably a hybrid position (1-2 days per week in the office), based from either our Horsham or Battersea locations.

Role Responsibilities
  • Own the accurate and timely recording of monthly financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with precision.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations with strong supporting documentation.
  • Support the month-end consolidation process, ensuring a smooth and accurate close.
  • Compile the monthly management accounts pack, including balance sheet, cash flow and income statement schedules.
  • Financial reporting & audit support.
  • Lead the preparation of annual consolidated accounts and audit-ready supporting schedules.
  • Produce all required year‑end financial disclosures on time and to a high standard.
  • Reconcile management accounts to statutory accounts.
  • Support accounting for new acquisitions and integration activities.
  • Prepare UK statutory accounts and filing documents using in‑house software.
  • Partner with external auditors, providing timely and accurate documentation.
Operational Impact & Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and recommend improvements.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise across the group.
  • Assist in drafting covenant certificates and related documentation.
  • Support knowledge‑sharing by coaching and developing junior team members.
  • Help solve complex challenges with innovative, practical solutions aligned to business goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and outsourced teams across global locations.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to support the wider Finance function.
Do you have what we are looking for?
  • Deep technical accounting expertise, including group consolidations and statutory reporting (FRS102 essential).
  • Hands‑on experience with accounts production software (e.g., Wolters Kluwer CCH, CaseWare, IRIS).
  • Experience with NetSuite or Adaptive Planning – Desirable.
  • Proven track record in a similar financial reporting role.
  • Fully qualified accountant (or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel skills, confident working independently with large datasets (Pivot Tables, Lookups, SUMIFS essential).
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy, best practice and continuous improvement.
