Job summary

A well-established accountancy practice in the United Kingdom is looking for a Senior Accountant to prepare and review financial accounts, manage client relationships, and support junior team members. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in an accountancy practice and excellent communication skills. Additional perks include 25 days holiday, free parking, and a supportive management team. The salary is competitive at £36k to £42k depending on experience, with a 37.5 hour working week.

Staff 86 | 86 Group are working with a very well-established accountancy practice that has an exceptional reputation, proven by their extremely high and long‑lasting client retention. They are based close to Whitchurch and are easily commutable from Wrexham, Chester, Nantwich and surrounding areas.

  • Job Title: Senior Accountant
  • Salary: In the region of £36k to £42k DOE
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hour working week
  • Holidays: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Overview of the role:
  • Preparing and reviewing financial accounts and tax returns for limited companies and sole traders.
  • Managing client relationships and providing advice.
  • Supporting junior team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting audits.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Delivering a high‑quality service to clients.
Required skills and experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an accountancy practice – essential.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office – essential.
  • Experience of working with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and CCH would be highly desirable.
