Overview

Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and experienced teacher to deliver a KS2 curriculum to KS3 students at a SEND school in Bournemouth. This position is full time and can offer temporary to permanent employment. If you have experience working with young people in UK schools, learners with SEND and are a kind, resilient and caring professional, we would love to hear from you!

As a SEND teacher

As a SEND teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Record student progress.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you
  • Experience working with young people in UK schools
  • Background in SEN education or alternative provision – desirable but not essential
  • Confident delivering KS2 curriculum
  • Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning
  • Experience of working with young people with SEND
Contract information
  • Location - Bournemouth, Hampshire
  • Position - SEND teacher
  • Contract or position start date - September 2025
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Permanent
  • Full time/part time - Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Paid to scale
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4 pm, plus parents evenings and department meetings.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
Eligibility
  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
