Qualifications

Job description

Flourish Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kingswinford, who are seeking a passionate SEND Hub Teacher to join their dedicated SEND provision.

This is a full-time class teacher role, working within the school’s SEND hub, supporting a small group of pupils with EHCPs. The children present with a range of additional needs, primarily autism, learning difficulties and global developmental delay.

The successful teacher will take on full classroom responsibilities, including planning, assessment, progress tracking and contributing to review meetings, while working closely with support staff, the SENCo and external professionals to ensure each child receives the best possible provision.

Roles and responsibilities of an SEND Teacher:
  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality, differentiated teaching and learning for a small class of pupils within the SEND hub
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging and developmentally appropriate
  • Working collaboratively with TAs, the SENCO, and external professionals to support pupils' progress
  • Promoting consistent behaviour expectations and emotional regulation strategies
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress against EHCP outcomes, contributing to reviews and target-setting
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and development
Suitable SEND Teacher Candidates will have the following:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching children with SEND, particularly autism and complex learning needs, within a primary or specialist setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing, resilient approach
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons to meet a variety of additional needs
  • Confident working with children with EHCPs
