Job summary

A reputable education recruitment agency in Chelmsford is looking for a dedicated SEN Support Staff member to assist students with diverse special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. You will work closely with teachers and professionals to promote the emotional wellbeing and independence of pupils. The role requires collaboration, an Enhanced DBS check, and experience with SEN or a strong desire to support these students. Full-time, term time only, with competitive pay.

Qualifications

SEN Support Staff

Pay: 90-110 per day

Full-time/ Term Time only

Chelmesford, Essex

As an SEN Support Staff member, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to support students with a variety of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and speech and language challenges.

SEN Support Staff Role:
  • Promote independence, self-confidence, and emotional wellbeing among pupils.
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to ensure accessibility for all students with SEN.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
  • Support with personal care needs, where appropriate
SEN Support Staff Requirements:
  • Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to follow directions and work independently
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, or a strong desire to support those with additional learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
