SEND Specialist Tutor
Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Manchester area.
Your role
- Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence, teaching life skills, how to safely access the community, simple cooking and fostering independence.
- Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
- Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning.
- Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
Contract/Position Details
- Location: Various locations across Manchester
- Position: SEND Specialist Tutor
- Type of work: Contract
- Start date: ASAP
- Setting: either within the students home or in the community (learning hub/library)
- Duration: Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement
- Contract type: Temporary
- Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15 hours p/w per student
- Rate of pay: up to GBP30 per hour (negotiable)
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Children related/Education qualification
- Possess UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
- Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours
Eligibility
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
