TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND schools, who are now recruiting for School Cleaners. This role is essential in ensuring pupils have a clean, hygienic and safe learning environment, especially those with sensory, medical or additional needs.

The Role

You will support the day‑to‑day cleaning of an SEND school, including:

  • Cleaning classrooms, corridors, dining halls and communal areas
  • Maintaining hygiene standards in specialist spaces such as sensory rooms and therapy areas
  • Emptying bins, wiping surfaces, mopping floors and replenishing supplies
  • Ensuring all cleaning tasks follow school health & safety procedures
  • Working independently and following the site supervisor’s cleaning schedule
Requirements
  • Previous cleaning experience (school or SEND experience preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Reliability, professionalism and the ability to work safely around children
  • Comfortable working in environments supporting pupils with a variety of needs
