Primary SEND Teacher – SEMH & SLCN
Location: Grimsby
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Pay: £140–£230 (dependent on experience)

Do you have the patience, creativity, and resilience needed to help young learners overcome barriers to learning?

TeacherActive is recruiting for a specialist SEND provision in Grimsby that supports primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The school, rated Good by Ofsted, offers a highly supportive, structured environment focused on early intervention and long-term positive outcomes.

We are seeking a dedicated Primary SEND Teacher who can deliver engaging, age‑appropriate learning while supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, communication skills, and confidence in the classroom.

The Role:
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets
  • Teaching small class groups with consistent support from specialist Teaching Assistants
  • Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour
  • Using communication‑focused approaches to support pupils with SLCN
  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching primary‑aged children, particularly those with SEMH and/or SLCN needs
  • Demonstrate a calm, nurturing, and consistent teaching approach
  • Be confident managing behaviour using trauma‑informed and positive reinforcement strategies
  • Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
