A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Central London is seeking an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child in Key Stage 1 with medical needs.

The Role

This full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant position involves supporting a pupil within Key stage 1 who requires assistance to access all areas of the curriculum. The child is PEG-fed, and the successful candidate must be trained and confident in managing PEG feeding, including maintaining hygiene and ensuring the feeding line remains clean and secure.

In addition to learning support, you will work closely with the child’s parents, who are present in the school during part of the day. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, collaborative approach are essential.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Confident and trained in PEG feeding, with a strong understanding of hygiene and safety procedures
  • Patient, nurturing, and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Able to build strong, professional relationships with both children and parents
  • Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to support learning across the full curriculum
