Job summary

An education agency in Rochester is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support students with special educational needs in both primary and secondary settings. Cover Supervisor - SEND Specialist
Location: Rochester (Medway Area)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Position
Start Date: ASAP

Supply Desk are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic specialist SEND school in Rochester, who are seeking an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor or HLTA to join their dedicated team. This full-time, long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, across both primary and secondary phases.

Responsibilities
  • Leading pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects and key stages (Primary and Secondary)
  • Adapting content to meet the needs of students with a range of SEND, including autism, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school\'s policies and ethos
  • Working closely with support staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Providing constructive feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
Requirements
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting
  • Proven ability to lead or supervise lessons independently
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Confidence in working across both primary and secondary key stages
  • A valid, enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
