Job description

We are currently seeking a Qualified Teacher with QTS to join us to work upon an EOTAS provision for multiple young persons in the Horsham area.

If you are a SEND-experienced, particularly with Demand Avoidance, compassionate educator with a particular interest and flare for STEM, humanities, or social sciences, we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for creating a bespoke curriculum with a student-led approach that focuses on project-based work, delivering key skills in Maths, English, Science and the broader curriculum.

As part of this education, you will shape the curriculum to incorporate the student's interests, strengths, and support needs, as well as in the community activities as part of the young person's EOTAS package.

Your goal will be to deliver a tailored curriculum, allowing the student to work within a low pressure, low-demand, enjoyable environment to ignite their passion for learning.

The Hours
  • Monday: 9.30 – 2.30pm or 1.30–4pm
  • Tuesday: 9.30 – 12.30pm or 12.30–3.30pm
  • Wednesday: 10 – 1pm
  • Thursday: 9 – 3pm
  • Friday: 10 – 1pm
Your Responsibilities
  • The ideal candidate will have availability for at least 2 of the above listed blocks of time.
  • Design and deliver personalised lessons in core subjects, particularly STEM, humanities, or social sciences.
  • Implement therapeutic and innovative approaches aligned with neurodivergent learning styles.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, parents, carers, and case workers as part of a holistic support network.
  • Monitor and report on academic and emotional progress through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Offer a reliable, empathetic presence that supports both educational and emotional development.
What we are looking for
  • A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience at KS2/3 level.
  • Solid understanding of neurodivergent learners, with experience in low-demand or trauma-informed approaches, particularly with Demand Avoidant profiles.
  • Background in alternative education settings, such as EOTAS, PRUs, or specialist provision.
  • Skilled at aligning lessons with EHCP outcomes and adapting methods to meet individual needs.
Essential criteria
  • You must hold a degree (BA/BSc) within one of the following subjects: STEM, Humanities, or Social Sciences.
  • You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • You must have a student-led approach to education, with the ability to adapt to the student's needs.
  • To hold an Enhanced DBS certificate which is registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • At a minimum, you must hold a Level 1 (or higher) Safeguarding certificate (Qualification may be gained as part of the onboarding process, if successful).
