Key Responsibilities
  • Promote best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of SEND provision.
  • Collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Oversee the identification of meaningful post-16 destinations and implement successful transition plans.
  • Advise and assist school leadership on the strategic development of SEN policy and provision.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • QTS or QTLS.
  • A proven track record of excellence in teaching within a SEND environment.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to manage complex situations, resolve conflicts, and build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • Accredited training in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia).
  • A leadership/management qualification (NPQSL/H/SENDCo or willingness to achieve within 2 years).
