Job summary

A teaching recruitment agency in the UK is currently seeking a SEND/SEMH Tutor to provide individualized support to students in Washington. This role involves working with complex students on a one-to-one basis in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will possess experience with SEND and SEMH, with a strong focus on improving student learning and personal growth. Flexibility in working hours and a competitive pay rate of £25 - £30 per hour are offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis.
  • Proven track record of improving student performance.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex students on a 1 to 1 basis within the home or community.
  • Help progress the student's learning and personal development.
  • Conduct sessions until a suitable school placement is found.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for SEND/SEMH tutors in Washington! The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience with SEND and SEMH, and would be comfortable supporting complex students on a 1 to 1 basis within the home or community. The main aim of these sessions is to help progress the student's learning and personal development until a suitable school placement is found.

Position Details
  • Position: SEND/SEMH Tutor
  • Start date: ASAP
  • End date: Ongoing, open-ended
  • Area: Washington
  • Working hours: 5-30 hours per week (flexible)
  • Pay Rate: GBP25 - GBP30 per hour
Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS (desired but not required), or previous experience working with students on a 1:1 basis.
  • Proven track record of improving student performance.
  • Team Teach Qualification highly desirable, but not required.
  • Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but not essential – safeguarding training is provided).
  • DBS on update service.
Eligibility
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional references from previous employment within the last two years.
