Prospero Teaching you passionate about education and making a difference? We have multiple opportunities for experienced Tutors to support young people in the Brighton area. This is a rewarding role where you can help learners overcome challenges and achieve their potential.

About the Role

You will provide tailored tuition to students who may have additional needs, including:

  • SEN (Special Educational Needs)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
  • Trauma
  • At risk of PEX (Permanent Exclusion)

Your sessions will focus on building confidence, improving engagement, and supporting academic progress.

As a Tutor, You Will:
  • Deliver personalised learning plans to meet individual needs
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting strategies for complex requirements
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
As a Tutor, you will:
  • Deliver personalised sessions tailored to the learner's needs.
  • Provide consistent and supportive mentoring to help build emotional resilience and self-confidence.
  • Develop and implement a Personalised Communication Plan using preferred signals (e.g., hand gestures, cards, emojis, words).
  • Practice communication strategies in calm situations to build familiarity and trust.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
