Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a passionate SEN Tutor in Manchester to provide tailored 1:1 support for students with complex Special Educational Needs, including Autism and ADHD. The position is part-time (20 hours/week) starting January 2026, with duties including delivering personalized lessons, fostering a supportive learning environment, and maintaining feedback communication with parents. Candidates must have relevant tutoring experience and be eligible to work in the UK. An Enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Tutor to join our team in Manchester, with a start date in January 2026. This role involves providing tailored, 1:1 support to students with complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, and those working below expected academic levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver GCSE Maths and English lessons on a 1:1 basis, personalised to each student’s SEN learning profile.
  • Adapt lesson materials and pacing to meet the student’s emotional regulation needs and learning style.
  • Help students develop core subject knowledge, build study skills, and improve their exam confidence.
  • Establish a consistent and trusting rapport with students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers or professionals as needed.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
  • Experience working with SEN learners in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications
