Overview

Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA); Location: Rotherham; Pay rate: £95-£105 per day (Depending on experience); Start Date: Immediate; Contract type: Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

Schools in Rotherham, and GSL Education are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide targeted support across diverse learning environments.

In this role, Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) will support teachers and pupils to ensure access to learning, build confidence, and develop essential social and academic skills, while contributing to a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapt resources where required.
  • Support emotional regulation, communication, and engagement.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to monitor and support progress.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as SEN Teaching Assistants or in a similar support role.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
