SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (E1)

The Role
The school is seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small‑group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans and interventions
- Adapt classroom activities and resources to meet pupil needs
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Monitor and report pupil progress to the class teacher / SENDCo
- Support behaviour management in line with school values
- Prepare differentiated resources and assist with classroom organisation
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
Person Specification
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEND (learning difficulties, SEMH needs, autism, speech and language difficulties, etc.)
- Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management strategies
- Be organised, proactive, and collaborative
- Hold an enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
- Ideally hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE)
