SEN Teaching Assistant Primary (Ages 3 11)
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Pay: £110 £135 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
We are working with a specialist SEN primary school in Hounslow, supporting pupils aged 3 to 11 with Autism (ASD), Speech & Language Needs, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD) and associated behaviours. This is a warm, nurturing setting with a strong emphasis on communication, sensory learning and emotional development.
We are seeking a confident and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
Experience working with children with SEN in a school, nursery, or care setting
OR a Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Support / Early Years
A patient, calm and encouraging approach to supporting children
Confidence in following structured routines and behaviour support plans
Team Teach / Positive Handling training is highly desirable (but not essential training can be provided)
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups within structured classroom and sensory environments
Assisting with communication tools such as PECS, visuals and Makaton (training provided if needed)
Helping pupils to regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
Providing support with personal care where required
Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
Supportive leadership and staff team
A friendly, inclusive and welcoming environment
Ongoing training including Team Teach, Communication systems and specialist SEN approaches
Genuine opportunities for career progression (including SEN Teacher training pathways)
