Overview

SEN Teaching Assistant – Location: Northumberland. Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm. Role based in Morpeth, supporting neurodiverse pupils across EYFS, KS1, KS2 or KS3 in an inclusive educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to neurodiverse pupils in small groups or 1:1 settings.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with neurodiverse children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential).
