Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Intervention Class)

Location: Dagenham

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: 8 : 30am - 4 : 00pm (including one 30-minute break)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive 4-form entry primary school in Dagenham. This role is to provide essential support within an intervention class, working closely with children who have complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact on pupils who require tailored, compassionate support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1 : 1 and small-group support to pupils with complex Special Educational Needs.
  • Work with children who are non-verbal and working at a pre-formal level, adapting activities to meet their individual learning needs.
  • Support class routines, therapeutic activities, and personalised learning plans.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes emotional and sensory regulation.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with staff and, where appropriate, families and professionals.
About You
