Overview

Rikama Education are on the hunt for an amazing SEN teaching Assistant to join our partner school in the Lewisham area.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role will require you to support a year 3 child with Autism (ASD). The child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and requires strong attentive care and nurturing. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will deliver the best practice ensuring that the child's developmental, social and academic needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support
  • Assist in the implementation of their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs, if required
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and independence
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with an SEN child
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
