Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

New Barn School is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our vibrant team in Newbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that champions the potential of every young person, providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils with SEMH and additional needs can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a SEN Teacher, you will have the freedom to bring your creativity and practical teaching expertise to life. You will lead flexible, person‑centred programmes of study, tailoring learning to each pupil's needs and helping them achieve meaningful outcomes. You will deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects, plan and assess teaching sessions in line with curriculum developments, and create stimulating learning environments both inside and outside the classroom.
You will write, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), set achievable targets, and build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage participation and motivation. Supporting pupils with complex needs and promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development will also be key parts of your role.
New Barn School offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls aged 6‑19 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexes. The school takes full advantage of its beautiful setting and fosters a love for using the outdoor curriculum including forest school, farm experiences and horse riding. It is within commuting distance of Swindon, Oxford, Andover, Basingstoke, and Reading and surrounding towns.
