Job summary

An education recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils with additional learning needs in a nurturing environment in Wales. Job description

Academics is currently recruiting for a dedicated, resilient SEN Teacher to work within a supportive ALN resource base in a school located in Barry. This role is due to start in January and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

The successful candidate will deliver tailored teaching programmes and provide high quality support to pupils with complex needs, helping them develop both academically and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.

Pay Rate

From 172.98 per day, inclusive of holiday pay. Higher rates are dependent upon experience, training, qualifications, and the client rate available.

Role Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with ALN
  • Supporting children with ASD, social emotional needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Using positive behaviour support strategies to encourage pupil engagement
  • Working closely with support staff, the ALNCo, and external professionals
  • Creating a safe, encouraging learning atmosphere where all pupils can progress
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, ALN or behavioural needs
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support approaches
  • High levels of empathy, patience and resilience
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a busy SEN classroom environment
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
  • EWC registration, or willingness to register
