Aspire People is seeking caring, patient, and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistants to join exceptional ASD-focused schools across South East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning or communication needs.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils in developing communication, social, and emotional skills using structured and positive strategies.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and engagement in learning through consistent support and encouragement.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists.
  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment for all students.
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs, ideally ASD (in schools, care, or youth settings).
  • Understanding of autism, sensory processing differences, and communication challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated SEN team.
  • Minimum of GCSEs (A*-C) in English and Maths; additional qualifications in child development or SEN support are desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
