Job Description:

Special Needs HLTA's

  • Full-time or part-time
  • 8:30am - 3:15pm
  • Leading pre-planned lessons
  • Supporting wherever necessary

I work on behalf of a number of special schools in the Frome area that require support throughout the academic year. These schools are a variation of different environments but they all consistently require support from SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant's in covering across the schools.

The schools will look after students aged 4-19 with a range of special needs that includes ASD, ADHD, SLD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD & Complex Needs.

The role

The role of HLTA is incredibly mixed. You are essentially the schools all rounder; providing support by leading pre-planned lessons where teachers are unavailable, providing TA support, 1-1 support & pastoral care.

There is the opportunity here to work either ad hoc or on a full-time/long-term basis. You must have experience working with special needs & disabilities. Due to the expectations of the role, ideally you would have worked in a special school environment before.
