Qualifications

  • UK manual driving licence.
  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • No prior experience in education required.

Overview

Role Details
  • Term‑time position covering 39 weeks a year.
  • Work hours: 9AM – 3:30PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Up to three weeks of training and development during academic holidays.
  • Relief (bank) work: cover shifts for permanent staff during annual leave, training, and other absences.
  • Position based at Abingdon College and in the community.
  • Provide tuition on life skills such as public transport, money management, and accessing local resources.

  • Support students aged 16‑25 with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
  • Create a nurturing environment that uses students’ interests to enhance learning.
  • Build positive relationships, break down barriers, and help students develop self‑esteem.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support in a flexible framework.
Qualifications & Experience
  • UK manual driving licence.
  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • No prior experience in education required – we provide all specialist training.
  • Essential qualities: kindness, initiative, friendliness, patience.
Training & Development
  • Probation period includes a mix of eLearning, face‑to‑face training and mentoring.
  • Access to the in‑house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR for ongoing professional development.
  • Opportunity to complete the Level3 Award in Education and Training.
  • Support for professional qualifications and career progression – all free of charge.
