Job summary

A supportive educational organization is seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant in Bury to help students in Key Stages 3 and 4, specifically those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The role emphasizes effective behaviour support and building relationships to assist students in overcoming learning barriers. Ideal candidates will have experience in secondary education or related fields. The position offers a temporary contract with working hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm and competitive weekly pay ranging from £450 to £550.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a secondary school or with young people having SEMH/SEND needs.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training can be provided.
• Training in Prevent, behaviour management, de-escalation, or FGM can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students across KS3 & KS4 with SEMH needs.
• Assist in classroom activities and lead small-group or 1:1 interventions.
• Work proactively to guide students through challenges and encourage positive decision-making.
