Job Title: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teacher) Teacher
Location: Wakefield
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting students’ social, emotional, and mental health alongside their academic development?

GSL Education are seeking SEMH Teachers to work in schools across Wakefield, helping pupils build resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies while achieving their learning goals.

As an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teacher) Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons, provide pastoral support, and create a nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

Responsibilities of SEMH Teacher
  • Plan and deliver lessons adapted to the needs of pupils with SEMH challenges.
  • Support students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor progress, maintain records, and assess both academic and personal development.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive outcomes.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as an SEMH Teacher or with pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to supporting learners with varying abilities and challenges.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A professional approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll help students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve emotional growth in a supportive school environment.
