  • Hours of work: 42 hours per week during term time / 20.5 to 23 hours per week during non-term time
  • Salary: £29,267 to £31,050

Location: Working across the Group – Wakefield, Castleford and Selby

We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our Estates team at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.

As a Security Supervisor, you will provide an essential front‑of‑house service, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors across our campuses. This role offers variety and challenge—no two days are ever the same.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake security duties to ensure that all campuses are opened and closed, secured, and alarmed at agreed times.

Conduct regular patrols to monitor security and report any issues through the appropriate channels.

Monitor student behaviour, intervening when necessary and promoting a positive College ethos. Report inappropriate behaviour to a duty manager.

Provide direct line management to security staff across all three College sites, ensuring teams are supported, trained, and deployed effectively.

Communicate professionally at all levels, remaining calm and composed in a range of situations, quickly assessing and diffusing issues in line with Group policies and values.

Requirements

Previous experience in front‑line security.

SIA Licence.

Door Licence, or willingness to undertake.

First Aid trained, or willingness to undertake training.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
