About The Role

Position: Night Security Officer
Location: Queen’s University Belfast
Hours:42.5 hrs per week
Rate of Pay:£13.50

Main Purpose of a Night Security Officer

We are seeking professional and vigilant Night Security Officers to join the security team at the prestigious Queen’s University Belfast. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and university property during night-time hours.

PEOPLE FIRST

  • Be a role model for positive attitude and respect for our colleagues, client and customers;
  • Carry out security activities to the standards confirmed in the site specification and to the standards trained and defined by the SIA;
  • React to any incident or event in order to ensure the safety of persons and property in line with training, client requirements and Company policies and procedures;
  • Maintain a proactive dialogue with internal and external customers, responding to feedback appropriately

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct regular patrols across campus buildings and grounds
    • Monitor CCTV systems to identify and respond to incidents
    • Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed
    • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security concerns
    • Provide a visible and reassuring security presence around campus
    • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security records
    • Liaise with local emergency services when required
    • Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors

    Essential Requirements

    • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
    • Full UK Driving Licence
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
    • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
    • Flexibility to work a range of night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
