About our Team
The team you will be working with spans the UK and India, including internal customers and stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing strategic and technical security direction for multiple teams of stakeholders in these regions. Additionally, you will utilize your leadership to mature and nurture the Technology organization towards a high-performance security culture. You will also work with Cirium’s Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to ensure security priorities are accounted for and negotiated successfully.

About the Role
Act as the security lead for Cirium Technology, responsible for shaping and maintaining the security posture through strong governance, technical leadership, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. Drive security ownership across engineering teams, ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities, promote security culture, and align closely with parent company security functions, the VP of Technology, and the Technology Leadership Team (TLT). Reporting to the VP of Technology, this strategic role is pivotal to our ability to operate as an efficient and effective Tech organization.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary security liaison within Cirium Technology, collaborating with stakeholders

Providing strategic and technical security direction across Cirium Technology in the UK and India to embed stronger security controls and practices throughout the organization.

Evangelizing the Incident Process, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Disaster Recovery practices to ensure all teams are aware and supportive

Utilizing your experience migrating businesses and teams into using industry security best practices and frameworks. ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and AWS Well-Architected Framework

Utilizing real-time dashboards to facilitate tracking and reporting to the Technology Leadership Team and the wider organization.

Become fully embedded into our engineering teams and practices to: Lead threat modeling, vulnerability prioritization, and hold risk assessment exercises. Monitor zero-day threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring they are properly prioritized and resolved by responsible teams. Guide architectural security reviews to ensure resilient, secure systems in line with organizational standards.

Requirements

You are passionate about security and speak with knowledge and authority to both technical and non-technical audiences about Information Security.

Experience of solving complex information security concerns in both a technical and strategic role.

Be able to work with teams that build platform components securely. You can effectively apply risk mitigation strategies that align with the business and deliver large-scale security projects and improvements.

Experience leading and coaching teams to success. Influencing best practice security concepts with Engineering managers, Directors, and C-Level staff.

You thrive on improving the collective understanding of security in teams and nurturing individual accountability.

Have an understanding that being heavy-handed with security does not drive a business towards success. You know how to balance well-established global security frameworks and influence the business and teams into their adoption over time.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to be effective across global diverse teams
