  • Salary/Hourly Rate: $20-$24/hour

What You’ll Do:

The Role:

The Inn at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate is seeking candidates for a seasonal Breakfast Cook. As a Breakfast Cook, you will prepare fresh baked pastries and hot breakfasts at the Inn at Castle Hill. You will also need to make cookies/treats for the daily afternoon tea. You will maintain an organized, clean and sanitary work environment. Knowledge of sanitation and food safety is required. All inn staff must be courteous and friendly when interacting with inn guests.

Specifically, you’ll:

  • Bake pastry daily
  • Prepare fruit plates for guests
  • Prepare a hot breakfast entrée of the day
  • Make large batches of granola every week
  • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work area – this includes dishwashing and thorough cleaning of kitchen after breakfast, as needed.
  • Prepare cheese plates for guests as ordered
  • Manage ordering of all food from purveyors

This is a limited-term, non-exempt position (24-36 hours/week) reporting directly to Assistant Innkeeper and Innkeeper.

What You’ll Need:

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous cooking experience is required
  • Must be ServSafe Certified
  • Positive customer interaction skills

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays are required; access to a car is necessary.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds required. Must be able to climb stairs (no elevator in the building)
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy.
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
