An educational institution in Burton upon Trent is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support practical lessons within a supportive team. The role is part-time, requiring good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to students' success and well-being while adhering to health and safety standards. Training can be provided for specific requirements.
Science Technician — Permanent, part-time 10 hours a week, open to different working patterns within teaching core hours of 8:30am – 3:00pm Monday – Friday. Term Time Only plus INSET days.
Salary: Grade 3 (SCP 4) £25,185 per annum pro rata. Actual salary: £5,910.86 per annum.

This role is key to supporting our Science teaching team to deliver and support practical lessons. You will be directed and supported by senior colleagues to allow you to fulfil this role. Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to use your initiative to support students, contributing to their success, behaviour management and social skills. Working in both the preparation room and classroom to ensure good health, safety and wellbeing practices are maintained you will have a good understanding of health and safety requirements, although training can be provided.
