Role Summary

Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for your next rewarding role in education? Or perhaps a recent science graduate keen to kick-start a career in a school lab setting? Aspire People are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected secondary school in Tameside, who are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time position to support the Science Department across all key stages, running for the entire academic year, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and setting up apparatus for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised laboratory environment
  • Supporting teaching staff with demonstrations and technical advice
  • Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines)
About You
  • Previous experience as a science technician in a school setting is ideal, but not essential
  • Science graduates with lab-based experience will also be considered
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for one through Aspire People
