Role

Job Description - Science Technician

Responsibilities
  • Setting up and clearing away equipment for practical science lessons
  • Preparing chemical solutions and ensuring all materials are safely stored
  • Maintaining laboratory cleanliness and safety protocols
  • Assisting students and staff during experiments (and occasionally rescuing a rogue test tube!)
  • Managing stock levels and keeping the science cupboard in order
  • Supporting teachers and students in bringing experiments to life
What We're Looking For / Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a school lab or similar technical/scientific role is highly desirable
  • A passion for science and a great sense of organisation (and humour!)
  • The ability to follow health & safety protocols (no mad science allowed, sorry!)
  • Strong communication skills - you'll be working with staff and students daily
  • A proactive and flexible attitude - no two school days are the same!
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS - if you don't already have one, don't panic! We can help you apply
  • EWC registration (Education Workforce Council - essential for working in Welsh schools)
  • Previous experience in a school lab or similar technical/scientific role is highly desirable
