Overview

36 hours per week, 36 weeks per year to cover term times. Uxbridge Campus. Actual salary in the range of £21,395 - £22,021 per annum.

Role

We wish to appoint a full time, term time only Technician to work within the Science team of the colleges successful Sixth Form which delivers GCSE, A Levels and vocational Science courses.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare practical equipment for science classes
  • Assist and supervise students in the Science Laboratories
  • Help with practical work and supervise students during class contact hours
  • Assist in the maintenance and distribution of the equipment, monitoring stock levels and supporting lecturers during demonstrations
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team and assist in all Science areas
Qualifications
  • You should be qualified to A Level or equivalent in a Science subject, or have substantial relevant experience
  • Experience working in a science laboratory/workshop
  • Good organisational skills
  • An understanding of basic health and safety requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and work as part of a team
