About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Science Technician to join a thriving academy in the area of Bradford. As a Science Technician, you will be an integral part of the science department, providing essential support to teaching staff and students. Requirements
  • Experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety procedures in a school science lab.
  • Eligibility work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service (Willingness to apply for a new one)

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing apparatus, materials, and solutions for science lessons and demonstrations.
  • Ensuring all equipment is clean, in good working order, and readily available for use.
  • Checking and testing the functionality of equipment, such as microscopes and power supplies.
  • Conducting routine safety checks on equipment and facilities.
  • Conducting and documenting risk assessments for all practical activities.
  • Ensuring all students and staff are aware of safety protocols during practical sessions.
  • Assisting with the setting up of apparatus for exams and assessments.
  • Helping to supervise students during practical work.
  • Providing support for science-related projects and extra-curricular clubs.
  • Liaising with teaching staff to understand their technical needs for upcoming lessons.
