General Science Teacher – Secondary School (January Start)

Location : Chelmsford, Essex

Start Date : January

Contract : Full-Time | Maternity Cover | Paid via Agency

Pay : £170 – £240 per day (dependent on experience)

We are supporting a high-performing secondary school in Chelmsford looking for an enthusiastic General Science Teacher to cover a maternity leave from January. This role provides an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a strong, well-resourced science faculty.

Role Overview

Teach General Science across KS3–KS4 following departmental schemes of work

Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that foster scientific understanding

Track and assess student progress, providing targeted support when needed

Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and enrichment activities

Maintain high standards for behaviour, participation, and academic progress

About You

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or equivalent

Experience teaching General Science at secondary level

Confident classroom management and effective communication skills

Passionate, motivated, and committed to student achievement
