The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join their team. The school has an outstanding Ofsted rating and provides a supportive, high-achieving environment where students are encouraged to approach teachers for guidance. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring that all learners achieve their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Science curriculum that aligns with national standards and school objectives.
  • Plan and implement lesson plans that cater to a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons, using a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding.
  • Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to guide improvement.
  • Keep accurate records of student grades and achievements, and monitor progress to ensure that each student is meeting their academic goals.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of ability and learning styles.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming events.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and collaborate with colleagues to discuss student performance.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in Science education, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
Ideal Candidate
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus).
  • A teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on Science.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students in Science.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate.
