The purpose of this post is to provide Science / AV support services to all departments, members of staff, pupils and other stakeholders in the school.

Responsibilities

Specialised Science Tasks

Health and Safety

Provision and organisation of materials and equipment

Responsible for relevant in-service training / CPD

Financial responsibility including inventory tasks

The Individual
  • Expertise in a minimum of one of the areas of Science / ICT /Technical /AV
  • Direct experience of working in a school in a technical capacity
  • Qualified to HNC level in a science subject; Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent as demonstrated by experience in this field
  • Proven time management skills
  • Working knowledge of software applications including word, excel and general internet access
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn
  • A commitment to ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are met
  • Evidence of an ability to prioritise work tasks for self
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • An ability to communicate technical issues to all within the school environment

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Temporary appointment until 30 April 2026.

Closing Date: 19 December 2025
Starting Salary: £31,630.30
£16.78 per hour
36.25 hours per week
