Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join a school team in Greenwich on a temporary contract. Ideal candidates will have experience in safeguarding roles, particularly in an educational environment, along with a valid DBS certificate. Responsibilities include acting as the main contact for safeguarding issues, maintaining policies, and supporting staff. This position requires strong communication skills and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a safeguarding role, particularly within a school setting.
  • DBS on the update service is required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding issues.
  • Receive, record, and respond to concerns or disclosures in line with policy.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are up to date and effectively implemented.
  • Provide advice, training, and support to staff and volunteers.
  • Liaise with external agencies as required.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, vigilance, and accountability.

Skills

Experience in a safeguarding, social care, education, or support role
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
Excellent communication, judgement, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Training in safeguarding (e.g., DSL/CPD-level) preferred

Interaction Education are pleased to be supporting a great school in the Greenwich area, in their search for a Safeguarding officer to join the team on a long term, temporary contract.

This role would suit someone who has previous experience in a safeguarding role, particularly within the school setting. The successful candidate will also need a DBS on the update service.

Key Responsibilities
