School Office Manager - Immediate Start - Middlesbrough

Are you an experienced Office Manager looking for your next exciting opportunity? Or are you a school professional ready to step up into a management role?

We're seeking a confident, organised, and proactive individual to lead the front office of a thriving school in Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within a welcoming and supportive educational environment.

📍 Location: Middlesbrough (Free Parking on site) 💼 Contract: Full-Time | Initial Temporary Contract (Potential to go Permanent) 💰 Salary: £30,024 - £31,021 DOE 🕒 Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility between 7:45am and 5:00pm, 7.5 hours per day 📅 Start Date: As soon as possible, candidates with immediate availability or a short 1-2 week notice will be considered

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day running of the school office and reception, managing a small administrative team.
  • Oversee admissions, attendance, pupil records, and family communications.
  • Manage HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding, and DBS checks.
  • Support financial administration: invoices, petty cash, trip payments, and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate reports, correspondence, and events for the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Maintain GDPR, safeguarding, and health & safety compliance across the school.
  • Organise school events, parent evenings, and other key academy activities.
  • Maintain accurate information systems, including MIS, pupil records, and staff data.
  • Support recruitment, induction, training bookings, and staff development administration.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and a professional welcome for staff, pupils, families, and visitors.
  • Assist with office budgets, resource management, and financial procedures.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the academy, liaising with staff, governors, and external partners.
Essential Criteria
  • Strong background in administration or office management (experience in education preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using digital systems
  • Calm, professional, and discreet under pressure
  • Immediate availability preferred (Enhanced DBS required - condition of employment)
