School Nurse

32.5 to 37 hours by discussion, Term-time plus Insets and one week (40 weeks)

Band E (£38,220 – £44,075 pro rata)

Starting salary £29,487 – £33,570 (depending on hours)

Alderbrook School has an exciting opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to join our dedicated pastoral support team. This permanent position is suited for a well-qualified individual with previous experience in the education sector or practice.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a qualified school nurse to take charge of the day to day health of each student within the school and to provide first aid to pupils as required.

Requirements
  • Have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be qualified and prepared to administer first aid to students.
  • Have excellent administrative and ICT skills, which are essential in this position.
  • Have the ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Have experience of working in a busy environment and be prepared to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Be able to work to deadlines, which may require multi-tasking at times.
  • Show initiative and the confidence to share ideas.
  • Have a great sense of humour and the ability to support others with a smile, when times are tough.
