Overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SN) who enjoys the challenge of working with children and young people. You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes, working flexibly and creatively to engage and meet the diverse health needs of the 0-19 population, as part of the New Forest & Romsey School Nursing Team based at Tatchbury Mount, Calmore.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) within the locality and provide professional leadership to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the commissioned service.
  • Deliver the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009), including the 0-19 (Health Visiting and School Nursing) High Impact Areas.
  • Provide clinical leadership and management support to Community Staff Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses, School Nurse Assistants and Administrative Support staff to support the delivery of a quality 0-19 public health service.
  • Facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions, proactive public health initiatives and work both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and governance in all aspects of safeguarding children whilst being supported by robust organisational supervision, guidelines and policies.
