Catering Assistant Needed for School in Bishops Stortford. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a school in Bishops Stortford on a temporary basis. This role is vital in ensuring that the school provides nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Position: School Catering Assistant
Location: Bishops Stortford, CM23
Type: Temporary Part-Time, Ongoing role during school term time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Rate: from £12.21 p/hr

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of school meals - Every meal is tailored to each child and served individually at this school
• Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean, tidy, and compliant with food hygiene regulations
• Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Help with stock management and basic food preparation tasks
• Provide excellent service to staff and students, contributing to a positive dining experience

Requirements

• A valid DBS Enhanced check is essential for this school-based role and MUST include the child barred list
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role is preferred but not required
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high hygiene standards
• Availability for the full duration of the assignment
• Must provide two references
