Job description

Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for a new role? Aspire People are currently recruiting full‑time, temporary School Caretakers to work across Oldbury. We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out general maintenance and repairs around the school grounds
  • Litter picking and keeping outdoor areas tidy
  • Completing odd jobs delegated by the site supervisor or school management
  • Opening and closing the school building, including setting alarms and securing the site
  • Working both independently and as part of a team to complete tasks safely and efficiently
Working Hours

Typical working hours are full‑time between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm, though these may vary. You must be flexible with the working hours as some schools require split shift patterns, e.g. 6:00 am‑10:00 am then 2:00 pm‑6:00 pm.

Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance or caretaking (previous school setting desirable but not essential)
  • Valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to pay £56.20 for a new one.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of pupils; suitable Child Protection screening will be required.
