Trafford Council is seeking a School Appeal Clerk to attend appeal hearings and ensure the accurate recording of proceedings. Responsibilities include preparing decision letters and advising Panel members. A strong understanding of school appeals practice and prior experience in clerking is required. We are looking for a School Appeal Clerk required to attend hearings. Sessions normally last a full day during which around 8 cases will be heard and in some instances you may be required, subject to availability, to attend multi day hearings.
The role will include preparation before meetings, advising Panel members and taking minutes during hearings. After meetings, you will be required to prepare decision letters and correspondence to schools and parents. This will be undertaken at home and therefore access to a computer and the internet is essential.
You must be able to produce accurate records of proceedings of the appeal hearings, possess a good knowledge of school appeals practice, have experience of clerking meetings or minute/note taking and maintain confidentially.
